Our Mission Statement
We are a Bible centered Church and our mission is to reach our community with the saving message of Jesus Christ. it is our goal to make disciples for Christ and equip new believers with all that is needed to be healthy, productive servants of Christ.

Our Statement of Faith

1. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscript, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct.

2. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and He died on the cross to save us from our sins. We believe that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior will receive the gift of eternal life.

3. We believe that those who accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord become members of His Church and receive spiritual gifts (special abilities) to be used in the ministries of the Church.

4. We believe the Church is the people of God with the primary mission of sharing the Gospel and winning people to Christ.

5. We believe the Church should minister to both, physical and spiritual needs of people. We believe our message about Jesus Christ becomes more credible when we meet real human needs.

6. We believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth for His Church. Everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord will be caught up to be with Him forever.

7. We believe in the reward of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked. Everyone who serves the Lord faithfully in this life will be rewarded for the good works they have done along with the gift of eternal life. We believe those who reject the Lord in this life will be punished for their unrighteousness and be eternally separated from God.

History of Bellevue

Bellevue came into existence in 1960 as the result of a merger of two Swedish Baptist Churches, Grace Bapist and Roseland Temple on the south side of Chicago. They grew and thrived over the years and became a viable Christian presence in the community. Bellevue went through a cultural and racial change during the late sixties and early seventies.

During that period of trial, the Church made a new commitment to stay in the community and minister to all people. God blessed that decision and Bellevue has continued to grow, reaching others with the saving message of Jesus Christ.

The Congregation Today:

We are a diverse group of people at Bellevue: You will find married and singles, employed and unemployed, youth, young adults, adults and seniors. The common bond that holds us together is our love for God and our love for one another. We believe that our love for people makes our message about Jesus Christ more credible. Therefore, you will find us trying to reach our community by ministering to concrete, social needs. We are not a church that meets only on Sunday. We have programs and activities throughout the week. During the school year we have a club program for community youth. In the summer we sponsor a math and computer camp which emphasize religious training along with academic skills. We host several health fairs for the community during the year. We feed the hungry and sponsor clothing give-away events for the poor. We have several Bible Studies during the week designed to minister to the spiritual needs of those who attend. We do our best to make personal visits to all of our guests who attend our worship services. These are only a few of our ministries designed to show that we really care about our community.

When people join our Church, we receive them as brothers and sisters in Christ and we give them the same rights and privileges as other members in our Church. We believe that everyone that God sends to us has spiritual gifts which should be used in His Church. So we encourage everyone to be active in some ministry in our Church.
